Mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, index funds, hedge funds. Before starting an ETF specific thread, please search on (Symbol-xxx) in the message title only, where xxx is the ticker, to see if one exists. If so, please add to the existing thread. When starting a new ETF specific thread, please include the ETF name and symbol (Symbol-xxx) in the subject line to insure that the Search function will find the symbol.

what stock funds are good for investing now?
I am aware the market is down due to credit crisis.
Are blue chip funds down the toilet permanently?

IMHO, forget about equity mutual funds and invest in etfs instead

Low-fee funds are good for investing, if you can bear the risks of entering the stock market. Investing within your risk tolerance is good. Beyond it is bad. Nobody here can tell you if any particular active fund manager is going to have golden performance, and most likely any technical analysis you do will not reveal that information either...

If blue chip companies are down the toilet permanently, then we have alot to worry about...
But what you lack in confidence regarding the market can be made up for in confidence regarding yourself as an investor.
